We visited the Quigley Castle today |
Mrs Quigley loved rocks and started collecting them in earnest when she was nine years old. |
Her husband was a bottle collector and she made several bottle trees from his collection. |
Built in 1943 it went the first three years without any glass in the windows because of the shortage during the war. |
The Arkansas rocks don't have any color to them. They are most quartz, crystal, and diamonds. She had to go out of state to find the colored ones. |
She spent three years covering the outside of the house all from her collection. Then she built all of the other little rock sculptures. |
Inside were these old hornet nest. |
The kitchen |
Living and dining area |
Upstairs bedrooms, nice quilt |
The house is built with two separate foundations separated by four feet. There are many tropical plants growing in that 4' gap that grow from the ground to the top of the second floor. |
Another of the three upstairs bedrooms |
Called the butterfly wall |
Some of them are moths |

Old double barrel shotgun |

We then rode down to the War Eagle Mill |
An old but still in operation grist mill |
This old bridge had a wooden deck. I had to ride over it just for fun. |

These bath houses sprung up all around the springs. |

Most of these beautiful homes have become B&B's |
These guest are enjoying the group entertaining on the Basin Spring stage. They have drug out the priceless quilts to the balcony to keep themselves warm on this chilly evening. |
