It finally quit raining at 11:30 this morning. |
The next town was Well |
All of the creeks were running full |
Lots of beautiful homes along the highway |
I think Arkansas may give a tax break or punishment if you keep the grounds maintained or not |
It didn't matter if it was a Mansion or humble abode, all of the grounds were perfect. |
another swollen creek |
I'm not old enough to remember these guys, but I'm sure my sisters do. :) |
Stands next to the store. |
Probably the only fire truck Pine Ridge ever had. |
Still has a post office inside that has been in operation since 1909 |
and here it is! |
This is actually the original PO window, but has be replaced by the new one in the above picture. |
Part of the old stores inventory. Those are replacement bows for covered wagons. |
I don't think anything had been invented that you couldn't get in this store. |
She and her husband bought the store from the original family that started it. She plays some of the Lum and Abner programs while you browse the museum on that old tape recorder. |
PC wasn't an issue back then. |
Probably the next piece of equipment Mike Turley will buy. |
Thought they were stuffed till one yawned! |
Old Lum and Abner were bikers too! |
One of the new Eleanor models |
The owner was an RC buff but they are all for sale as his neck is too stiff to look up and he can't fly them any more. |
Swollen creek with falls |
Special venting to keep the bad smell outside |
Looks like it was wired at one time |
I took this for a reason, but forgot. |
It didn't look like Plainview, AR was doing to well |
Many nice farms |
I ate at this colorful Mexican restaurant. I wish the food was as good as the decor. |
It was almost to nice to use. |
The Arkansas River is pretty big |
A little rain along the way, but it didn't dampen the riding at all. |
Absolutely perfect riding temps. |
So many beautiful cemeterys down here. |
Like me, this was at one time useful.......not much holding it up anymore. :) |
The very best road I've ridden so far in AR |
It got pretty foggy on top of the mountain |
Think it is called Cave Lk |
Cool shop |
For Sherm's daughter |
This one is in Paris, AR. There is another one just like it in Ozark only 10 miles away. |
Probably a court house |
so many beautiful homes |
There must be a symbiotic relationship here |
I only saw it in two fields |

I have no clue |
Bridge over the Arkansas River on Hwy 309 Ozark, AR |
You're hitting a lot of the great stops en route to Eureka Springs. The Oark General Store is known for some of the best burgers and other foods, pies, etc. in town. The riding there isn't bad either. Ride safe!
