First stop on our ride today was this old wooden bridge.
It is a suspension bridge over a small lake
Almost the entire structure is wood including the decking.
These are the anchors for the suspension cables.
Looking up at the underside of the deck
Second stop was at the Beaver Dam
It forms Beaver Lake and also has some hydroelectric generation.
Sherm
Walking toward the chapel
There was a service in progress so this was as far as we were allowed. We will come back here on another day.
A very beautiful setting in the woods.
One of the very few straight sections of road in the Ozarks.
Not sure about this
Half of the bikes are in Missouri, and the other half in Arkansas
Do any of you know what this is? Sort of looks like a wasp body....but more of a brown color.
Lots of small post offices in rural America
Sherm is so excited to be getting ethanol free gas.......
.....that he even paid extra for the high test
He is now testing out the improved performance of the high test fuel.
There is a very nice railroad display in ES
Many old pieces of equipment
They still offer train rides through the area.
The old train station
A turntable so they could turn the old engines around.
A long passenger car
A lonely old soul waiting for the next train.
Trying to get home, but fell asleep and missed his train.
I think these guys used to have a late night television show.
Stewey has a 34 oz mug on his bike, but a 100 oz one in his hand. It only cost $8.95 to refill it.
The first group has arrived
We had nine for dinner at Amores
Pretty good food, and no one left hungery.
Sherm documenting the size of JR's Calzone
